Deylaman is a city in the city of Siahkal, Gilan province, located in northern Iran, with a height of 2200-2500 from the sea level. According to the census of 2011, the population of Deylman was 1,656 people.
The name of Deylaman is a combination of the three sub-word of Deyl, Am and An. Deyl means the place where the livestock holds, and Am is a suffix indicate the height, and An is suffix of the place. As a result, the meaning of this combination is a high-altitude place where livestock holds, and in fact, Deylaman is a highland in which animal husbandry is the livelihood of its people. This area was called the Deylam until the fifth century AH, and from the fifth century onwards, in the texts, the name of Deylaman is seen and, if used earlier, it represents the group of Deylam.
The city of Deylaman is located in the province of Gilan and and like other parts of the province, it has a rainy and humid climate. Due to the mountainous region of Dylan, the cool and cold weather is also one of the advantages of this area.
Deyalman has a beautiful and snow-covered mountain, called Mount Dorfak, and has created a magnificent landscape in the area. Watching the white peaks of the Dorfak from the green jungle is very exciting. It should be noted that this mountain is interesting in terms of climbing and caving. There are two famous caves in this mountain, the characteristics of which are related to their form of rocks and cressets. One of these caves has rocks in the shape of humans and animals, and the other cave is also known for its ice cressets.
