Nahar Khoran is a village from the central part of the city of Gorgan in Golestan province of Iran. The village is located in the southern Estarabad village and according to the 2006 census, its population was 71 people (22 households). Nowadays, this village is a forest park in the south of Gorgan, 8 km from the city center.
Nahar Khoran region has a relatively more favorable climate compared to the city and northern part of the area. Over time, with the increase in the size and population of the city of Gorgan, about 20 years ago, the distance between the city center and the Nahar Khoran has become a relatively crowded street and becomes one of Gorgan’s main streets. This street, which is famous as the Nahar Khoran road, is a great way for walking and also people’s entertainment.
There are also special holiday rental huts in the Nahar Khoran hotel. Every year, a large number of travelers from Tehran-Mashhad road, come to this place. However, there are very few recreational and leisure facilities in comparison with the number of people who visit and circulate there.
The path of the Nahar Khoran road to the south, after about 7 km, reaches the beautiful village of Ziyarat with two tall and spectacular waterfalls, a hot spring and landmarks of the region. It is one of the 20 best tourist villages of Iran in terms of labyrinthine yards, the color of the walls and its antiquity.
