Ferdowsi Mausoleum Cultural Complex is located in Toos and 25 km northwest of Mashhad. The current building of the tomb was opened in 1934 alongside the Ferdowsi Millennium rituals.
The tomb, which is constructed in the form of Persepolis and Cyrus Tomb in Pasargadae, consists of three parts, the first part of which is the middlemost part, and is made up of a 1.5 × 1 meter marble stone and a height of about 0.5 m, And is located in the middle, on the marble platform. The second part consists of a square chamber, made of marble square blocks and inside of it is decorated with tiles. There are four long columns in the quadrilateral of this hall, And the image of a winged man on top of the south side of the main building has been created that reminisce the features of Persepolis. The third part is the staircase enclosure covered in marble stones on which the room is located, and a large number of Ferdowsi’s poems have been carved on its wall.
Abolqasem Ferdowsi Tusi (329 AH – 416 AH, in Tous Khorasan), an Iranian epic poet and composer of Shahnameh, is the national epic of Iran. Some believe Ferdowsi is the greatest poet in Farsi language, who has a global reputation.
